We are getting closer to the playoffs, and we're getting some very interesting happenings toward the bottom. Let's see what the Power Rankings say:
1. Accountants Do It In Numbers-Randy Blum (37.5 Points)
Randy takes a tough loss this week, but it doesn't cost him anything but a stronger opportunity at the #1 seed. Nevertheless, he's still in a strong position, sitting a game up in the division with match-ups against his only real competition for the spot coming in the next few weeks.
2. The Bryce Is Right-Andrew Blum (35 Points)
Andrew is back to where he was a week ago after a win: A game back of the division lead, facing the team he's tied with in the upcoming week. He broke his losing streak; will he keep the winning going now?
3. Albuquerque Isotopes-Joshua Blum (32 Points)
Josh takes a tough loss this week, losing an opportunity to get tied up for the division lead. He's back where he was two weeks ago, so there was no real harm in the loss, and his team still looks strong. This week's match-up should be a great one.
4. Zimmerman Telegraph-Shane Sandri (28 Points)
Shane takes another loss this week, and after a hot start, he's been cooling off in recent weeks. That being said, he still holds a two game lead int he division, and one more will all but cement the division title, so it's not too much of a concern at the moment.
5. A New Era-Austin Drake (26.5 Points)
Austin gets to .500 once again, and he's now pretty close to being a lock for the playoffs. Another win could all but lock it up for him.
T-6. The Fresh "Prince"-Scott Stepaniak (16.5 Points)
Scott picks up an incredibly important win this week, taking out a tough opponent in Randy, and now puts himself currently in the playoffs. He'll need to keep it up, but this season finally looks like it has the potential to turn around for Scott.
T-6. LC Legend-Kyle Trondle (16.5 Points)
The same can be said for Kyle, who picks up an equally big win against Josh. At 5-9, he's not currently in the playoffs, but continued winning ways could allow him to sneak in.
8. No More Haren Addiction-Andy Ashbaugh (11.5 Points)
Andy also takes an important win this week, and the logjam at the bottom continues to grow. There's about four or five teams competing for that final playoff spot right now, and a win has put Andy in that conversation.
9. ThE RoUnD MoUnD Of ReBoUnD-Ervin Demirasi (8.5 Points)
Ervin's luck has definitely turned in the other direction, and now he finds himself outside of the playoffs. Of course, he's currently tied for the sixth seed, so a win could change all that quickly.
10. How I Met Yu's Mother-Brian Rossen (8 Points)
It's been a tough year for Brian, and he now sits as the last team in the league. The playoffs aren't out of the realm of possibility, but it's a very slim chance at this point. It might be time to look toward next season.
Looking ahead to Week 15, we get some excellent match-ups that will help determine a bit of the playoff seeding. The match-up of the week, for the second time in three weeks, is #2 The Bryce Is Right (9-5) taking on #3 Albuquerque Isotopes (9-5). This one could very well determine which team has any shot at taking the top seed in the league, and the loser is likely to be the #4 seed in the playoffs.
Meanwhile, #1 Accountants Do It In Numbers (10-4) takes on #8 No More Haren Addiction (5-9) with the hope of maintaining a one-game lead in the division. #4 Zimmerman Telegraph (9-5) could basically lock up the #2 seed this week, but it will require a win against #10 How I Met Yu's Mother (4-10). #5 A New Era (7-7) looks to get above .500 this week and put some distance between himself and #9 ThE RoUnD MoUnD Of ReBoUnD (6-8). And, finally, we get a match-up for that final playoff spot as #6 The Fresh "Prince" (6-8) takes on #6 LC Legend (5-9).
