We get our first playoff team locked up this week. Let's see what the power rankings have to say:
1. Accountants Do It In Numbers-Randy Blum (38.5 Points)
Well, Randy had a crappy week, but he still managed to pull out the win, locking up a spot in the playoffs in the process. With that locked up, he now keeps looking ahead to getting the #1 seed, which will require much more work, with just a one game lead.
2. The Bryce Is Right-Andrew Blum (34 Points)
Andrew's losing streak moves to four in a row this week, thanks to a week where he just hit the wrong opponent. He would have defeated nearly any other team in the league by at least 200 points, but instead he comes away with a loss. Don't expect the streak to last, though. His team is consistently continuing to put up big weeks, and that won't change soon.
3. Albuquerque Isotopes-Josh Blum (32 Points)
A big win this week puts Josh into second place in Division 1. It also all but guarantees him a playoff berth, and once again shows that his team is strong all-around, and continues to get better. This is probably not a team you want to play right now.
4. Zimmerman Telegraph-Shane Sandri (29.5 Points)
Shane drops slightly in the Power Rankings this week, but he still gets a win and continues to hold that commanding lead in Division 2. At 9-4, he's nearly guaranteed a playoff spot, and with a 3-game lead in Division 2, he's very close to locking up the division as well.
5. A New Era-Austin Drake (25.5 Points)
Austin cruises this week, and he's in a decent position now, matching Ervin at 6-7. Another win gets him back to .500, and he looks like a solid bet for the playoffs (And a dangerous match-up at that).
6. LC Legend-Kyle Trondle (16 Points)
Kyle's winning streak comes to an end this week, and he has a rough week in point total as well. 4-8 isn't insurmountable, but he'll definitely need to get back to his winning ways to have a shot.
7. The Fresh "Prince"-Scott Stepaniak (15.5 Points)
Scott ekes out a much-needed win this week, and he now sits within genuine striking distance of the playoffs. He will need to keep winning, but he's got something to go on now.
8. ThE RoUnD MoUnD Of ReBoUnD-Ervin Demirasi (11.5 Points)
Ervin's been getting closer to matching what the Power Rankings have said for much of the season. He's still in the playoffs as of now, but he's definitely leaving the door open for other teams.
9. How I Met Yu's Mother-Brian Rossen (10.5 Points)
Brian nearly came back and got the win on Sunday, but instead he suffers a tough loss. Now at 4-8, he needs to turn it around quickly or miss out on the playoffs.
10. No More Haren Addiciton-Andy Ashbaugh (7 Points)
Andy had a shot to take advantage of Randy's awful week, but he couldn't stay with it on Sunday, and he, too, dropped to 4-8. With Scott ahead of him again, he now needs to first look to avoid dropping to Division 2 next season, and then see if he has any shot at playoffs.
Looking ahead to next week, we get some interesting inter-division match-ups, and a few divisional ones as well. There's no overly exciting match-ups this week, though I suppose the biggest one would be #2 The Bryce Is Right (8-5) against #8 ThE RoUnD MoUnd Of ReBoUnD (6-7). Andrew is looking to get off his losing streak, but Ervin will also be looking to get himself back into a solid position for the playoffs.
#1 Accountants Do It In Numbers (10-3) takes on #7 The Fresh "Prince" (5-8), who will be looking to pick up a big win and get himself potentially into a playoff spot. #3 Albuquerque Isotopes (9-4) is the match-up that looks to get another losing streak going for #6 LC Legend (4-9). #4 Zimmerman Telegraph (9-4) gets a match against #10 No More Haren Addiciton (4-9) that could end up being tougher than the records might suggest. And, finally, #5 A New Era (6-7) takes on #9 How I Met Yu's Mother (4-9), in a match where both teams could use a win for their playoff hopes.
