With just one match-up left, a lot of things have been decided. One big thing, however, remains up in the air. Let's check out the power rankings:
1. Albuquerque Isotopes-Joshua Blum (37 Points)
The most important match-up of the year went Josh's way, and he clinches the division and the #1 seed because of it. He can cruise into the playoffs now, and wait to see if any upsets give him an easier match-up in Round 2.
2. Accountants Do It In Numbers-Randy Blum (35 Points)
Randy loses that big match-up, costing him the division title and a Round 1 bye. Nevertheless, he gets the benefit of putting it on cruise control this week as well, as he has clinched the #3 seed thanks to...
3. The Bryce Is Right-Andrew Blum (32 Points)
...Andrew took a tough loss this week. The loss leaves him with no chance to move up or down at this point. He is solidly in as the #4 seed, and now he just awaits his match-up. On to next week.
4. Zimmerman Telegraph-Shane Sandri (27 Points)
Shane already knew where he'd be; he clinched the #2 seed last week. But that didn't stop him from showing he can still dominate, and you can bet he'll be fighting for that top overall record this week.
5. A New Era-Austin Drake (26 Points)
Here's where things get interesting. Austin's loss leaves him at 8-9. He holds a one game edge over three teams for either of the final two playoff spots, however, he only owns a tiebreaker over one (That one team being Kyle). A win gets him in. A loss could knock him out. It'll be an interesting week.
6. LC Legend-Kyle Trondle (19.5 Points)
I have to admit, I didn't think Kyle would still have playoff hopes even as far as two weeks ago. Here we are, though. He's still on the outside looking in, but everything fell right this past week, as he picked up the win, and Andy beat Scott, putting all three of them at 7-10. This might be one of those 1-in-a-million type things, but, as anyone who's seen Dumb And Dumber can tell you..."So you're telling me there's a chance?"
7. No More Haren Addiction-Andy Ashbaugh (17 Points)
Andy's rebound to have a hot second half (As opposed to his normal hot first half with a fade at the end) is probably not as hot as he's hoped it'd be, but he's still holding on to his playoff hopes. In fact, the win against Scott gives him the tiebreaker every other team still fighting for a playoff spot. That makes his situation easy: Win and you're in.
8. The Fresh "Prince"-Scott Stepaniak (13.5 Points)
Year 2 has not been kind to Scott, but there's still hope. He now needs help, but he could still end up in the playoffs. He now has to deal with a potential demotion to Division 2, however.
9. How I Met Yu's Mother-Brian Rossen (8 Points)
Brian picked up a win this week! Yes, it was a meaningless win, but it was a win nonetheless. Take 'em where you can get 'em at this point. Now we get to see if he can play spoiler.
10. ThE RoUnD MoUnD Of ReBoUnD-Ervin Demirasi (5 Points)
The same thing is essentially true for Ervin this week. He has nothing to play for right now, but he could spoil someone else's party.
Looking ahead to next week, we get intrigue all over. The meaningless game of the week is actually a pretty good one, with #2 Accountants Do It In Numbers (11-6) going against #4 Zimmerman Telegraph (12-5). There's good stuff all over everything else though.
The team with the most ground to gain is #6 LC Legend (7-10), and he gets the toughest match-up when he takes on #1 Albuquerque Isotopes (12-5). #5 A New Era (8-9) has a much easier path to the playoffs, but getting the win will not be easy against #3 The Bryce Is Right (10-7). #7 No More Haren Addiction (7-10) just needs to win to get in against #10 ThE RoUnD MoUnD Of ReBoUnD (6-11). But, if he loses, #8 The Fresh "Prince" (7-10) could take advantage and sneak in...if he beats #9 How I Met Yu's Mother (5-12).
