After two weeks, we have a whole lot of teams right in the same general area. Let's see what the power rankings tell us this week:
1. Another One Bites The DL-Randy Blum (39.5 points)
We're down to two teams that are undefeated already, and Randy has put himself in a class above everyone else so far. Best record, most points so far this season...Randy is proving he's going to be a challenge for any team he faces all season long, even with all the early injuries.
2. A New Era-Austin Drake (31.5 points)
Austin takes the loss this week in a tough early season match-up against Shane. However, he's still showing that he's going to be a strong contender to win Division 2, and he's also going to be giving the Division 1 teams a run for their money every single week.
3. Zimmerman Telegraph-Shane Sandri (27.5 points)
One of the most impressive things about Shane's early season run is that he has yet to post a 200+ point day. It speaks to the consistency of this team, though, as he has been able to put forward two very strong wins early on. Shane is definitely proving to be tough competition for every team in the league.
4. The Fresh "Prince"-Scott Stepaniak (25.5 points)
Scott takes a tough loss this week, as he was unable to capitalize on a strong Saturday that put him within 30 points of victory. Nevertheless, he still sits right where he should be expected to be: Right in the thick of things in Divsion 1. It's going to be a tough go all season, but Scott seems to have a strong enough team to compete week in and week out.
5. The Bryce Is Right-Andrew Blum (22.5 points)
Andrew gets an important win over Scott this week, keeping himself from falling to 0-2 early in the season. This is another team that has proven to be pretty consistent early on, and Andrew is likely to be rewarded with a win more often than not.
6. Albuquerque Isotopes-Josh Blum (22 points)
After a tough loss on Sunday last week, Josh looked poised to fall to 0-2 this week, with a whole lot of low-scoring days (And a whole lot of no pitcher days). However, the weekend saw him surge back and pick up a big win over Brian. At 1-1, this is just another team in Division 1 with the potential to challenge every single week.
7. Arlington Argyle Socks-Brian Rossen (20 points)
Brian suffers a rough loss this week, but he still stands at 1-1. His team has the potential to be very strong, and he has, admittedly, "trimmed the fat" when it comes to how many Texas players are on his team. His team has the potential to make a run at the Division 2 title, and Austin and Shane should certainly be keeping an eye on him.
8. ThE RoUnD MoUnD Of ReBoUnD-Ervin Demirasi (13.5 points)
Ervin has shown two very different sides so far this season. Week 1 was a poor outing, but he came back and put up 900 points this week, and he needed every one of those points, as he just barely edged out Kyle for the victory, and was able to keep from going 0-2. Ervin could be a dark horse in Division 2, but he'll need to have more weeks like this if that's going to be the case.
9. LC Legend-Kyle Trondle (12 points)
Kyle had another pretty good week, but he got bested by Ervin, and he falls to 0-2 because of it. He has the potential to start picking up some wins, he just needs to keep it going for the entire week. He's certainly not out of it yet, and he has plenty of time to pick up some big wins.
10. No More Haren Addiction-Andy Ashbaugh (6 points)
It has been a rough start for Andy. He started out Week 2 pretty strongly, giving Randy a run for his money. In the end, though, Andy still ended up with the lowest point total of the week. His team has potential (And he showed that early in the week), but he's got to figure out a way to put it all together all week long.
Looking ahead to Week 3, we get some decent match-ups, as well as a few that, at least on paper, look fairly one-sided. The match-up of the week looks to be #1 Another One Bites the DL against #6 Albuquerque Isotopes. Randy could put some distance between himself and at least one other team in Division 1 with a win here, but Josh is certainly going to prove to be a tough match-up and could pick up a very valuable win here as well.
Another one to keep an eye on is #3 Zimmerman Telegraph taking on #7 Arlington Argyle Socks. Shane has had a hot start, but Brian can certainly put up the points as well. This one could end up pretty close at week's end.
We also see #2 A New Era taking on #9 LC Legend, which might look like a blowout on paper, but Kyle might just have something up his sleeve and give Austin a challenge. #4 The Fresh "Prince" takes on #8 ThE RoUnD MoUnD Of ReBoUnD in a match that could either be a blowout or very, very close, depending on which Ervin team shows up. And finally, we get the battle of the Andrews, as #5 The Bryce Is Right goes up against #10 No More Haren Addiction. Andrew could pick up an easy win here, but if Andy can pick it up, he may be able to give Andrew a run and pick up his first win of the season.
